2019 Disneyland Candy Canes Dates: How to Get Your Own Candy Cane

It just isn’t the holiday season at Disneyland Resort without the famous hand-pulled candy canes that start to appear in windows of the Candy Palace and Trolley Treats every November. The talented Disneyland Resort Candy Makers always look forward getting out their gloves out and making these delicious peppermint sweets. From start to finish, they work to create these colorful candy canes from scratch – from mixing the ingredients and hand-pulling the candy to rolling, twisting and wrapping up the final products.

This tradition dates back to 1968, making this year the 49th anniversary of these incredible candy canes. Each year, guests flock to the Disneyland Resort to get in on the hand-crafted sweetness. These candy canes measure a whopping 18 inches long. If you’re looking to try them yourself, then look no further, because you’ll be able to purchase these delightful treats starting November 24.

With only a limited number made daily and only for a short amount of time it is no wonder these delectable treats are so sought after.  If your curiously is peeked and you would like to buy a fresh made warm delicious candy cane, you need to plan ahead.  There will be some waiting and dedication that goes into getting your hands on one of these candy canes but we are sure with the tips listed below you are sure to be one of the few that will enjoy this treat.

  1. Get to the park at least an hour prior to opening so you can have a chance at being at the front of the line for the turnstiles entering the parks.
  2. As soon as you can head directly to Candy Palace at Disneyland park or Trolley Treats at Disney California Adventure Park (Depending on which park is serving the treats, check below for the dates and locations). You will see a line forming very quickly for these treats. Please DO NOT RUN as some have tried to do, it is a safety risk.
  3. Once inline the Cast Members will start disturbing a wristband to each person in line (only one per person, so if each person in your family wants one, each person must wait with you), along with the wristbands you will get a return time. If you're lucky enough to be near the front, you might be able to pick up your candy cane right away and skip needing a wrist band. Remember only one candy cane per person and Disney does not allow you to save spots
  4. Come back on time for your candy Cane! You will end up likely waiting in two lines for these candy canes when all is said and done.

Both the Candy Palace and Trolley Treats have specific alternating days that they make the candy canes. The candy canes sell for $12.99 each and are 5 oz each. Annual Pass discounts are not applicable for purchasing a Candy Cane.
